Fire and Rescue System Chief Kevin McGee has announced his retirement from Prince William County government service on Jan. 11, 2019 after 39 years. Deputy Chief Tim Keen will serve as Acting Chief of the Fire and Rescue System, according to a county news release.

Virginia State Police (VSP) will conduct a focused High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) enforcement on Interstate 66 inside the Beltway Thursday, December 13th, during morning and afternoon rush hour periods, according to a news release from the office of Del. Tim Hugo.

On December 4 at 12:11PM, Prince William County Police Department investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the intersection of Opitz Blvd and River Walk Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a two-vehicle crash.

U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) secured unanimous Senate passage of the Ashanti Alert Act, legislation that will create a new federal alert system for missing or endangered adults between the ages of 18-64. Currently, the U.S. does not have an alert system for missing adults.

On Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 at approximately 1:51 p.m., officers of the Manassas City Police Department responded to the area of Signal Hill Rd and Fairview Ave for a report of shots fired.

On Nov. 27 at 11:42AM, investigators with the Crash Unit responded to Lee Hwy at Heathcote Blvd in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a fatal two vehicle crash, according to Off. Nathan Probus, police department spokesman.

On November 21 at 8:08PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3300 block of Labourn Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting.

Prince William County Police say that "video surveillance footage from the 7-Eleven which shows the burglary and the suspects involved is now available. Detectives are still working to identify the other three suspects and are asking for the public’s help in providing information about the suspects."
