Coles Supervisor Yesli Vega issued this statement: "Today (April 25, 2024) I was notified that graffiti including antisemitic symbols were found at Coles Elementary and Benton Middle School. I want to express my unwavering support for our Jewish community. In Prince William County, we firmly reject any form of hatred."

First Deputy County Executive of Public Safety hired for Prince William County

Daniel Alexander from Florida has been hired as the newly created position of first Deputy County Executive of Public Safety for Prince William County. he Jan. 6 announcement follows what a county news release described as "a national/international search that involved 80 applicants and a competitive hiring process." His expected start date is Feb. 1.

Seven to be honored with PWC Human Rights Awards on Jan. 15

Prince William County Human Rights Commission will celebrate Universal Human Rights Day virtually on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at 10 a.m., according to a county news release. Nokesville and Evergreen trash and recycling collection cancelled Dec. 25 and Jan. 1

Due to the holiday schedule this year, there will be no Saturday trash or recycling collection at Nokesville and Evergreen sites on Christmas or New Year’s Day.

Prince William County approves grants to bolster hospitality and retail businesses

Prince William Board of County Supervisors has approved the Lift Up Lodging and Restore Retail grant programs from the Prince William County Department of Economic Development (PWCDED). The $10 million grant program, which will launch by Dec. 31, aims to cushion the ongoing crunch felt by hotels, restaurants, event spaces, and storefront retail businesses.

Bull Run Library closing for six months of renovations

After 27 years of service to the public, Bull Run Regional Library in Manassas will close Dec. 13 for about six months of renovations costing about $1 million.
