In February, Prince William County Animal Control officers reported that they were receiving complaints regarding mixed breed puppies being sold on Craigslist that were falsely represented as being properly vaccinated and that the ads stated that the puppies were farm raised and kept inside where they were crate trained.

Want to adopt a cat? Through June 30th, PWSPCA is offering a $45 fee to adopt any cat which includes a rabies vaccine, microchip, distemper combo vaccine and spay/neuter surgery (cats 1+ year). Cats are available at the Prince William County Animal Shelter (14807 Bristow Road, Manassas, VA 20112) during normal hours of operation and on the Prince William SPCA's P.A.W. Express mobile adoption van on Saturday, June 23.

On December 2 at the Prince William County Animal Shelter Girl Scout Cadettes (6th-8th grade) from St. Francis of Assisi School in Triangle will volunteer at the Shelter’s holiday open house. The Cadettes will provide tours of the Shelter to visiting families and will run two craft booths to raise money.

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors agreed Sept. 19 to construct a new 28,105 square-foot animal shelter, which will cost an estimated $14.1 million. Board chairman Corey Stewart said it will take care of the county's needs for the next 40 years.
