Crews are making significant progress on 16,000 subdivision streets across northern Virginia. Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reports that interstates and primaries in northern Virginia are mostly in passable condition, and crews are making significant progress on secondary roads and subdivision streets.

Manassas Park extends snow emergency to Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m.

The City Manager has put in placed parking prohibitions on all City of Manassas Park Streets designated as snow emergency routes until 6 pm, Tuesday, January 26, 2016.

Snow is melting and pooling in travel lanes and will turn into ice overnight. Therefore, VSP advises those who are having to travel overnight or early Monday morning to use extreme caution. Black ice will be a serious threat and drivers are advised to keep their speeds down, buckle up, and remain alert to slick spots on the road.

Snow emergency routes in Manassas listed

City of Manassas declared a Snow Emergency effective at 8 a.m. on January 22 through January 24 at 6 p.m. This means that cars parked along designated snow emergency routes are subject to towing and fines.
