Fauquier County Public Schools will participate in an earthquake drill on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 10:15 a.m. The drill is part of the fourth annual Great SouthEast ShakeOut, a multi-state simultaneous earthquake drill in which participants practice the recommended action to take during an actual earthquake.

A preliminary review of the Sept. 23, 2015 officer involved shooting that occurred near Lake Drive in Manassas has been completed. In the interest of keeping our community informed of significant incidents involving our officers, further details of that incident are being publicly released.

As a result of laboratory tests, and in consultation with a university shelter veterinary program, Prince William County Animal Shelter has resumed cat adoptions and surrenders. Eight adult cats now are waiting for a forever home with a loving individual or family.

The VCE Agriculture Agent, Paige Thacker, is responsible for collecting information regarding local agricultural damage and reporting to Prince William County's Emergency Services Manager within 24, 36 and 72 hours of an event.
