OmniRide staff will welcome back riders at commuter lots - buses on Friday schedule

OmniRide has resumed operating all routes and increased service levels on OmniRide Express buses. Weekday Express service to destinations in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. are running on a Friday schedule. The increase in service levels was based on the improving COVID-19 conditions, and the Governor’s order to begin reopening the state.

Heritage Hunt spreads holiday cheer

Heritage Hunt homeowners Golf and Country Club uses its impressive facilities to host a variety of events for the holidays. Many occasions involve meals or refreshments arranged for by the food and beverage staff of Billy Casper Golf, led by Tim O’Mara. Some are productions of chartered clubs within Heritage Hunt. All of them are full of holiday cheer.

PAWS makes adopting pet more express

Prince William County residents who are looking for pets should watch for the new pet adoption van, which will be unveiled Saturday, Dec. 10. The P.A.W. (Pet Adoption on Wheels) Express, bought in the summer by the Prince William Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) with a $154,565 grant from the PETCO Foundation, is making its public debut at 2 p.m. at the Prince William County Animal Shelter, at 14807 Bristow Road in Manassas. The van can hold about 26 cats and dogs. Potential adopters can see the animals through roll-up windows on the van, then walk through the van to meet the animals.

Robert “Bob” Seefeldt, veteran, teacher, FFA program specialist, volunteer, global missionary

Robert Arthur Seefeldt, of Woodbridge, VA passed away peacefully on May 23, 2020 while receiving hospice care. Bob and his wife, Kathy, a former chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors and a former Occoquan Supervisor, were among the pioneering families of Lake Ridge. A private service was conducted on June 10, 2020 followed by interment at Quantico National Cemetery.

Robert “Bob” Blevins Jr., retired principal, Woodbridge Lion, founding member Woodbridge church

Robert Lee Blevins, Jr. of Woodbridge, VA, died peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2020. He was 87 years old. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life in the coming months.

Elizabeth Crouch McCuin, PWCS bus driver for 46 years

A private burial service was held at the Gainesville Methodist Cemetery on Friday May 8, 2020 for Elizabeth Crouch McCuin, 78, of Gainesville, Va., who died at home surrounded by her loving family on May 5, 2020. A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held at a later date once it is deemed safe to gather in large groups.
