Police collect shell casings and comb area for clues in two weekend incidents involving reckless handling of firearms in Woodbridge.

The manager reported to police that between 1:30AM and 2:45AM, two unknown men were seen on surveillance cutting an exterior fence and going onto the property.

Prince William County Police report that Jacob Samuel CORUM who was sought in connection to the strangulation that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 8300 block of Sunset Dr. in Manassas (20109) on May 31, was arrested on June 8, 2020 after he turned himself in to police without incident.

Prince William County government, in conjunction with the Prince William Health District, Virginia Department of Health and Mako Medical Laboratories, is offering free, drive-thru testing for COVID-19 on Friday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hylton Memorial Chapel, 14640 Potomac Mills Road in Woodbridge. Gates will open at 8:30 a.m. and tickets distributed on a first-come, first-served basis with an allocated return time. To manage traffic flow in and around the chapel, those interested in attending should arrive at 8:30 a.m.

On Monday, May 25, 2020 at 10:52PM, Prince William County police officers responded to the 2600 block of Glenriver Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. Callers reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area.

On Saturday, May 23, 2020, a 49-year-old man, reported to police that he was robbed by a male acquaintance, identified as the accused, following a physical altercation. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim and damaged a vehicle. The accused then took the victim’s backpack before getting into a vehicle occupied by a female driver.

On Friday, May 22, 2020 at 4:20PM, officers from the Prince William County Police Department responded to a residence located in the 5500 block of Catharpin Rd in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary,

On Friday, May 22, 2020 at 7:22PM, Prince William County police officers responded to a residence located in the 2900 block of Wetherburn Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault.

On May 20 at 2:01PM, officers responded to the 1700 block of Old Bridge Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 38-year-old woman, reported to police that she arranged to sell a piece of jewelry to an unknown person, later identified as the accused, via the social media app “Let Go.”

Various free testing sites available to everyone have opened this week in our area. Wednesday (5/20) through Friday (5/22) of this week, one such free sites will be at Kilby Elementary School, which is located at 1800 Horner Road, Woodbridge, VA, 22191. Testing will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You will be asked if you have symptoms and testing may be limited to those who indicate they do.

On May 18, 2020 investigators with the Prince William County Police Department's Crash Investigation Unit identified and charged the driver of the Nissan Xterra, one of two vehicles involved in the fatal hit & run crash that occurred in the area of Sudley Rd and Balls Ford Rd in Manassas on May 6.

Free COVID-19 testing will be available on Wednesday, May 20, through Friday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 9608 Grant Ave. (where the new Public Safety facility will be). This is being offered by the Virginia Department of Health for those with symptoms of the virus.
