Two Woodbridge men have been charged with domestic assault and battery in separate incidents of verbal altercations that escalated. The men are being held without bond. One incident involved a 10-monh-old child. A child abuse charge was also placed by police.

Men, 20 and 26, get into verbal altercation that escalates and leads to an arrest.

Two young men--who were out walking--report robberies in Woodbridge as did a woman, 18, who reportedly was overpowered and injured by a trio of women and a male acquaintance.

As the officers approached the vehicle, the driver, later identified as the accused, placed the vehicle into reverse almost striking an officer and hitting a police department bicycle. The accused then put the vehicle in drive and drove at two additional officers from the team. The officers were able to move out of the way of the vehicle before the accused struck their two police department bicycles and fled the area.

On Saurday, August 15 at 9:56PM, officers responded to the Meridian Bay Apartments located in the 2900 block of Foxlair Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call.

On Sunday, August 16 at 4:40PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12600 block of Garman Dr. in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located damage to the trim of a window consistent with being struck by a round. While investigating, an additional round was fired in the direction of the residence.

Faced with insurmountable workforce issues, the Fauquier County School Board voted August 10 to move to a 100% virtual instructional model for all students through December. The first day of school remains August 24.

Police arrest two in connection with separate incidents in Woodbridge. One held without bond. The other has a Dec. 5 court date.

On August 7, detectives with the Special Victims Unit, in conjunction with Child Protective Services, concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a hotel in the Gainesville area (20155) of Prince William County between July 5 and 6, 2020.

Police investigating reported commercial and residential burglaries and an attempted strong-arm robbery.

After delaying the vote on July 14th, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors will decide whether to approve or vote against the Route 28 Bypass at its August 4th meeting.

Three transportation projects in eastern Prince William that county officials say will significantly impact mobility are slated to receive a total of $110 million in funding from Northern Virginia Transportation Authority as part of NVTA's 2020-2025 Six Year Program.
