The July 26, 2017 Planning Commission work session on Alternative Septic Systems in Prince William County has been canceled.

The all-organic and sustainability garden behind the Manassas Senior Center is full of life and color, including different shades of purples, greens and reds. While the garden is pretty to look at, it is also put to good use by the center.

Owls Nest Road (Route 658) between Burwell Road (Route 604) and Manley Road will be closed to through traffic from 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 25 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 26 for stormwater pipe replacement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

MANASSAS – Intermittent full closures will occur along Old Centreville Road on the bridge over Bull Run Thursday night, July 20 between midnight and 4 a.m. in order to place bridge beams, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at Interstate 66 and US 15 will be one step closer to completion once the new traffic signal mast arms are installed at US 15 and VA 55, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. Lane closures at the intersection, as well as intermittent full closures up to 15 minutes each will occur to facilitate the work.

James Bricker, athletic coordinator and physical education teacher at Parkside Middle School, named Best Teacher in InsideNoVa’s annual Best of Prince William online contest. The popular coach led the school’s boys track team to become 2017 District Champions. Bricker also coaches football and assists with wrestling.

Prince William County Schools has appointed new administrators and an acting director of school counseling.

On Tuesday, July 18th at 5:28 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a fire on the third floor at the Days Inn located in the 7600 block of Centreville Road in Manassas.
