The National Park Service (NPS) is actively working to remove paint that was poured and sprayed on the General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson monument at Manassas National Battlefield Park. The vandalism happened overnight and was discovered at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4.

Missing and damaged stones on the exterior of the bridge will be replaced and repaired using techniques employed when the structure was completed in the 1880s. For one to two weeks in late November and/or early December, the bridge will close while crews replace the surface people walk across. The parking area near the bridge will remain open throughout the project.

First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe, accompanied by State Senator Jeremy McPike, served breakfast to Potomac High School students in Woodbridge who stopped to get food between the first and second period of the day Sept. 29 as kickoff to her "Day of Action" campaign to fight child hunger. Every PWCS high school offers this Second Chance Breakfast, which accounts for a part of the 21,000+ breakfasts that are served Divisionwide.

At 2:57 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, City of Manassas Fire and Rescue units responded to a two alarm fire in the 9000 block of McRae Court. Upon arrival, units saw fire showing from a middle unit to the rear of the house. In total, fire damaged three town homes. Fourteen adults and five children were displaced.

Fatal Crash Investigation – On September 29 at 2:14PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 9300 block of Brentsville Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a two vehicle crash, according to Officer Nathan C. Probus, Police Department spokesman.
