On Saturday, Oct. 22, a community open house will be held at the Elk Run Church historical site from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Museum is located at 12187 Elk Run Rd, Midland, VA 22728-2319.
A special artifact display on the Manahoac Indians, who occupied the area before Virginia settlers, will also be provided.
New history panels showing the relationship of the nearby Germantown settlement with the Church and “Highlights of the Anglican Church in Colonial Virginia” will be available for viewing.
Visitors from Fauquier and adjoining counties can tour the Mini-Museum and the Manahoac Indian artifact display and view some of the artifacts of the seven year archaeological dig recovered at the site.
The Mini-Museum was built over an open excavated segment of the old Church foundation.

Information handouts and refreshments will be provided during the open house.
