On July 12, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident for a report of a suspicious phone call. The reporting party told officers that she received a phone call from an unknown male who claimed to be collecting money on behalf Manassas City Police Department, and that her donation would be retrieved in person by a uniformed officer of the Department.
