Virginia Tech Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership and Project Wing, the aviation division of X, will deliver food using unmanned aerial vehicles during research flights this fall at Virginia Tech.

Lane closures for milling and paving will occur nightly on portions of Featherstone Road and Blackburn Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12 through Friday, Sept. 16, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

School Division staff work hard to ensure the safety of students on buses, but their safety also depends largely on the willingness of motorists to follow laws concerning school buses.

“Sen Mark Warner was quoted in a press release as saying, "I’ve consistently urged the FAA to move forward with regulations to make safe operation of unmanned aircraft in U.S. airspace a reality, and implementation of this new rule is a major step forward."

The US Transportation Security Agency (TSA) reports that its officers discovered a record breaking 81 firearms this week in carry-on bags around the nation Aug. 12-18. Of the 81 firearms discovered, 70 were loaded and 31 had a round chambered.
