The Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) is extending by 30 days a suspension on utility service disconnections it ordered on March 16, 2020. The order prohibited disconnections of electricity, gas, water and sewer utility services during the coronavirus public health emergency.

Prince William Fire & Rescue reports that a Woodbridge man was attacked April 5, 2020 with a flaming log, which knocked the victim into a fire, causing burns to his face, neck, shoulder, back, and forearms. A suspect was charged with malicious wounding by fire and is being held without bond.

Today, April 6, Virginia Congressman Rob Wittman, who represents part of Prince William County, and Rep. Bill Johnson (R-OH-6), spurred by the Coronavirus Pandemic across America, introduced legislation to create a five-year pilot grant program to expand reliable broadband access to some 19 million rural Americans who are unable to connect to this service.
