Attorney General Mark R. Herring March 11 has expanded his Community Outreach program that, for the first time ever, will put a community outreach coordinator from the Office of Attorney General in every region of the state, including Northern Virginia, Fredericksburg, and the upper Shenandoah Valley.

Something new is coming for PRTC's I-66 commuters. Starting March 23, PRTC's OmniRide commuter buses will be authorized to drive on the paved shoulders in specific areas of I-66 inside the Beltway when the regular lanes are highly congested as part of a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) one-year pilot program.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT)has postponed a “pardon our dust” meeting Feb. 26 on a project to construct a ductbank that will carry new undergrounded utilities along Route 1 between Mary’s Way and Annapolis Way. When the meeting is rescheduled, residents can meet the project team to learn more about construction and traffic impacts expected to begin in March.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced tonight that Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews are prepared and ready for a statewide winter storm that is expected to bring significant snow fall across Virginia beginning Monday morning. Up to a foot of snow is expected in the far western region of the state and four to nine inches of snow across the rest of the state.

According to Anthem, hackers breached the company's computer systems and gained access to the names, birthdays, medical ID's, Social Security numbers, email addresses, and employment information of 80 million customers across the nation. The Virginia numbers are not yet known but the estimate is 3 million.
