**UPDATES**

Strangulation | Malicious Wounding | Assault by Mob *ARRESTS – On July 24, officers identified and arrested one of the suspects involved in the assault which occurred in the area of Coverstone Dr and Aaron Ln in Manassas on July 22. The suspect, identified as Joshua Lee JACKSON, was arrested without incident on July 25. The investigation continues.

Charged with strangulation, malicious wounding, assault by mob, and domestic assault & battery

Strangulation | Malicious Wounding | Assault by Mob [Previously Released] – On July 22 at 8:39PM, officers responded to the area of Coverstone Dr and Aaron Ln in Manassas (22109) to investigate a large group fighting in the area. When officers arrived, they located two victims, a 32-year-old woman of Manassas and 31-year-old man of Culpeper, who reported that they were in the above area when they were involved in a verbal altercation with several acquaintances which escalated. During the encounter, the suspects began assaulting the male victim. When the female victim attempted to intervene, she was choked causing her to lose consciousness. At some point, the female victim was also cut on the hand causing a deep laceration. The suspects fled the area when officers arrived. Both victims were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Officers checked the area and did not locate the suspects. This incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery | Malicious Wounding – On August 20 at 11:49PM, officers responded to investigate a robbery which occurred in the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22193) earlier that evening. The victim, a 35-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was sitting in his vehicle in the above area when he was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, the man displayed a knife and demanded the victim’s property. At some point, a struggle ensued and the victim received several lacerations. The parties eventually separated and the victim drove himself to a local hospital where he contacted police. Minor injuries were reported. The victim would not provide any suspect description. The investigation continues.

Strong Armed Robbery – On August 22 at 11:58AM, officers responded to the 1300 block of Columbia Rd Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery.  The victim, a 21-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking in the above area when she was approached from behind by an unknown man. During the encounter, the suspect grabbed the victim’s cell phone and purse before fleeing the area on foot. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect who was not located. No injuries were reported. The investigation continues.

Hispanic male, 5’06”, 160lbs with a thin build and short black hair
Last seen wearing a black hat, black shirt, and blue jeans

Strong Armed Robbery | Malicious Wounding – On August 21 at 4:06PM, officers responded to the 14000 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery.  The victim, a 46-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was riding his bicycle in the above area when he was struck in the back of the head by an unknown man causing him to fall down. During the encounter, the suspect continued to assault the victim until he became unconscious. The suspect then took the victim’s wallet before fleeing the area in a vehicle which was parked nearby. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening. The investigation continues.

Black male, between 20 & 25 years of age, 5’00”, 165lbs, with short black hair

Malicious Wounding – On August 23 at 2:15AM, officers responded to investigate an assault which occurred in the 2400 block of Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22192) earlier that night. The victim, a 49-year-old man of Maryland, reported to police that he made arrangements to purchase marijuana in the above area. During the transaction, the parties were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. At some point, the victim was punched in the mouth. The victim fled the area and reported the incident to police in Maryland. Minor injuries were reported. The investigation continues.

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On August 22 at 8:17AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12900 block of Fleetwood Dr in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a destruction of property. The homeowner reported to police that a bullet hole was discovered to an interior wall. Upon further investigation, a bullet was located on the floor inside the residence. No injuries or other property damage were reported.

Residential Burglary – On August 22 at 10:00AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7400 block of Emerald Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:00PM on August 21 and 12:30PM on August 22. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through a front door which was found damaged. A key was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On August 21 at 10:29AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14400 block of Moss Ledge Ct in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that at 9:51AM, an unknown person entered the residence through an unlocked front door. The suspect then fled the area when confronted by two dogs inside the residence. No property was reported missing. Officers searched for the area for the suspect who was not located.

**ARRESTS**

Residential Burglary – On August 22 at 10:52AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5200 block of Meckon Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an alarm activation. As officers were enroute, a witness reported to police that an unknown man was attempting to break into the residence through a rear door with a shovel. The suspect was able to open the door but did not make entry due to being confronted by a large dog. The suspect then fled the area prior to officers arriving. A responding officer located and detained the accused a short time later without incident. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
