Woman, 64, allegedly wounded maliciously on Roxbury Ave. in Manassas

Malicious Wounding | Strangulation – On October 6 at 10:43AM, officers responded to investigate a malicious wounding that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 7500 Roxbury Ave. in Manassas (20109) on October 2.

The victim, a 64-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. The investigation revealed that the victim was outside of the residence when the accused pushed her down to the ground and began striking her. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim’s neck.

Another resident separated the two and the victim returned to her home. The victim eventually responded to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The victim recently reported the incident prompting the police investigation. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Andrew Philip RIEDER, was arrested.

Charged with strangulation and malicious wounding
