Three men arrested and held without bond in connection with attempted burglary in Manassas

Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 11 at 3:18PM, officers responded to the area of Westside Rd and Commonwealth Ct in Manassas (20112) to investigate a fight with weapons. Responding officers quickly arrived and located several individuals who were detained without incident.

Further investigation determined that three suspects, identified as Joseph Michael WEST, Justus Nathanuel Jaleel MCLEAN and Luke William STOWE, drove to a residence located in the 12700 block of Westside Rd earlier that morning wearing masks and attempted to enter the home. A resident of the home heard some noise and went to investigate. When the resident looked outside, the suspects fled the area on foot. As the suspects were fleeing, one of them dropped a cell phone which was recovered by the resident.

Later that afternoon, the suspects returned to the area to retrieve the cell phone and were involved in a verbal altercation with the resident of the home which escalated. At some point, the resident retrieved a handgun. During the encounter, the handgun was discharged. The suspects then fled the area and were detained a short time later by the responding officers. No injuries or property damage were reported. Officers quickly determined that this incident was not random. Following the investigation, WEST, MCLEAN, and STOWE were arrested without incident. No charges are pending for the discharge of the firearm. The investigation continues.

Charged with attempted burglary, wearing a mask in public, and additional drug related charges

Justus Nathanuel Jaleel MCLEAN, 21, of 5949 Callie Furnace Ct in Manassas
Luke William STOWE, 23, of 1410 Deerfield Ln in Woodbridge
Both were charged with attempted burglary and wearing a mask in public
