Three charged in cases involving child victims

Incidents and arrests released on Wednesday, December 23, 2015

**ARRESTS**

Sexual Assault Investigation – On December 17th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 9900 block of Shallow Creek Loop in Manassas (20109). The investigation revealed that the victims, an 11 year old girl and a 13 year old girl, were sexually assaulted on more than one occasion in 2013 by the accused, identified as a family member. One of the victims recently disclosed the incidents to a known acquaintance who immediately notified police. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the accused who was arrested without incident.
Arrested on December 17th:
George Edward COLEMAN, 60, of 9026 Coriander Cir in Manassas
Charged with 2 counts of forcible sodomy , 2 counts of aggravated sexual battery, and 2 counts of indecent liberties by a custodian
Court Date: Pending | Status: Held WITHOUT bond

Felony Child Abuse – On December 22nd, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred at the Tiger Martial Arts Academy located at 10306 Bristow Center Dr in Bristow (20181) on December 21st. The investigation revealed that the accused, identified as an instructor at the business, grabbed the victim, a 5 year old male juvenile of Bristow, by the ankle then threw him over his shoulders and onto the ground causing the victim to lose consciousness.  Another employee of the business was made aware of the incident and contacted police.  Detectives notified the family who then responded to a local hospital where the victim was treated for serious injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Justin Patrick BRANICK, 21, of 10015 Umbrella Pl in Nokesville    
Charged with felony child abuse
Court date: Pending | Bond:  Released on a $5,000 unsecured bond

Felony Child Neglect – On December 21st at 6:59PM, officers responded to the area of Clipper Dr and Mariner Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a hit and run. The victim, a 7 year old girl of Woodbridge, reported to police that the accused, identified as a family member, was driving in the above area when she struck an unknown object. When the victim got out of the vehicle, the accused drove away. The victim was able to run home where she made contact with a neighbor who contacted police. A short time later, an officer located the accused walking down a sidewalk. The officer determined that the accused was intoxicated and subsequently arrested her without incident. The victim was not injured.

Dionyshia Whitsuner WILLIAMS, 50, of the 2000 block of Mayflower Dr in Woodbridge  
Charged with felony child neglect
Court date: Pending | Bond:  Held WITHOUT bond

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On December 21st at 11:40PM, officers responded to the 10681 block of General Kirkland Dr in Bristow (20136) to investigation a robbery. The victim, a 55 year old woman of Bristow, reported to police that she was in the above area when she was approached by an unknown man.  During the encounter, the man brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s property. The man took the victim’s purse before fleeing the area in a brown 4D sedan.  No injuries were reported. Officers checked the surrounding area for the suspect who was not located.
Suspect Description:
White male, between 20 & 30 years of age, 5’6’’ – No further description provided
Last seen wearing a grey hoodie sweatshirt

Armed Robbery – On December 22nd at 11:06PM, officers responded to investigate a robbery which occurred in the area of Mapledale Ave and MacWood Dr in Woodbridge (22193) around 10:45PM. The victim, a 17 year old male juvenile of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was in the above area when he was approached by three unknown males.  During the encounter, one of the men brandished a firearm while the other men went through the victim’s pockets and took the victim’s backpack before fleeing the area on foot.  No injuries were reported. Officers checked the surrounding area for the suspects who were no located.
Suspect Descriptions:
Three black males, unknown years of age, 5’10’’-6’1 – No further description provided
Last seen wearing all black clothing with hoods

Attempted Residential Burglary – On December 21st at 9:08PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12600 block of Greenhall Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary in progress. A resident reported that at 9:05PM she was in the basement when she heard a loud noise. When she went upstairs, she found that the front door had been forced opened by an unknown suspect.  No entry was made and no property was reported missing.  A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect who was not located.
