Robbery – Arrest
On January 9, 2015, investigative leads resulted in the identification of Clayton Lee HILL as a suspect in the

robbery of BB&T Bank (9201 Church St) that occurred on January 7, 2015 (see previous release below).  With the assistance of the Town of Woodstock Police Department, Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office, United States Marshals Service, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, HILL was arrested by Virginia State Police in Woodstock, VA after a short pursuit shortly before 9:00AM on January 10, 2015.  HILL (52), of 22060 Waverly Heights Ln, Middleburg, VA 20117, was charged with robbery and is awaiting transport back to Prince William County where he has a pending court date in General District Court.

Previously Released: Robbery (January 7, 2015)
At approximately 3:30PM on January 7, 2015, a male suspect entered the BB&T Bank (9201 Church St) and demanded money.  A weapon was not displayed, however was implied.  The teller complied and the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Hit & Run – Arrest
At approximately 11:45PM on January 9, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to the 8600 block of Liberia Ave for a report of a vehicle accident.  Officers were met by the passenger of the suspect vehicle upon arrival, who told them that the driver of the vehicle, Carlton SPRIGGS, had driven through someone’s yard, struck an unattended vehicle, and then ended up back on the street a few houses further up.  The owner of the house came outside and spoke with the passenger, at which time the driver fled on foot in an unknown direction.  SPRIGGS (41), of 4400 4th St N #310, Arlington, VA 22203, was located with the assistance of Prince William County Police and was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to take a blood or breath test, driving on a suspended operator’s license, and hit and run.  He was held on a $20,000.00 bond and has a pending court date of February 24, 2015.

Assault & Battery – Arrest
At approximately 1:50PM on January 10, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to Ruby Tuesday, located at 9504 Liberia Ave, in reference to an intoxicated person.  The reporting party stated there was an intoxicated male who had brought his own alcohol inside, was being disorderly in the restaurant, and refused to leave.  Officers discovered that the suspect, Abu GBLA, had been cursing and yelling at customers and staff, even after having been asked to leave.  When officers attempted to detain him and escort him out of the business, GBLA physically assaulted one of the officers while attempting to resist arrest.  He continued to exhibit disorderly conduct and verbally threaten officers at the detention center after being transported.  GBLA (33), of 250 S Van Dorn St #211, Alexandria, VA 22304, was charged with felony assault on a law enforcement officer, misdemeanor obstruction/resisting lawful arrest by force, disorderly conduct, trespassing, and intoxicated in public.  He was held without bond and has a pending court date of March 10, 2015.
