PWC Police investigate four weekend shootings–two in Woodbridge, two in Manassas

Attempted Malicious Wounding – On October 23 at 7:45PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14300 block of Westminister Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located the suspect, identified as a 33-year-old man of Woodbridge, inside the apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. The investigation revealed that this individual was involved in a verbal argument with the victim, identified as a 35-year-old man of Florida.

After the argument, the victim attempted to leave the apartment and was followed by the suspect. The victim retrieved a wooden board to defend himself, at which point, the suspect went to the bedroom and retrieved a handgun which he then shot towards the victim. The victim was not struck and a struggle ensued. During the altercation, the handgun discharged striking the suspect in the upper body. The suspect was flown to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive. All parties remained on scene and were questioned. Charges are pending. The investigation continues.

Armed Robbery – On October 22 at 6:19PM, officers were advised of a robbery which was reported to have occurred in a room at the Best Western located at 14619 Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22192) on October 21 around 8:30PM. The victim, a 33-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he made arrangements to meet an unknown woman at the above hotel.

When the woman arrived, she was accompanied by a female acquaintance. Once inside the room, the female acquaintance pulled out a “stun gun” type weapon and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects took the victim’s wallet, computer and money before fleeing. No injuries were reported.
Suspect Descriptions:
White female, between 20 & 25 years of age, 5’7”, 150lbs with a medium build, light complexion and brown hair
Last seen wearing long, tan coat similar to a trench coat
               
Black female, unknown age, 5’10”, 130lbs with a thin build and hazel eyes
No clothing description reported

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On October 24 at 2:22AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10200 block of Irongate Way in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shots fired call. The caller, who was inside the residence at the time, reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the area. While conducting the investigation, officers determined that bullets had struck the residence. Officers also located numerous shell casings in front of the residence. No injuries or other property damage were reported. This incident does not appear random. The investigation continues.

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On October 22 at 1:38PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8200 block of Claremont St in Manassas (20110) to investigate a shots fired call. Multiple callers reported hearing gunshots in the area.  One of the callers also reported seeing a dark colored, 2-door vehicle leave at a high rate of speed. While checking the area, officers located a homeowner who reported that the glass storm door to his residence was shattered and that there was a hole in the front door. Officers also located numerous shell casings in front of the home. No injuries or other property damage were reported. This incident does not appear random. The investigation continues
