PW Police seek witnesses to fatal crash in Gainesville

Fatal Crash Investigation – On Monday, April 11, 2022 at 12:56PM, investigators from the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Lee Hwy just beyond Pageland Ln in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed the driver of a 2007 Ford Mustang was traveling north on Lee Hwy between Pageland Ln and Groveton Rd when the driver lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway.

According to First Sgt. Jonathan Perok, public information officer, the vehicle traveled along the gravel shoulder before reentering the roadway and crossing into the southbound lanes of travel. The vehicle then left the roadway a second time before striking a tree and coming to rest along the side of the roadway where the vehicle then caught fire. The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash on April 12. No other occupants were in the vehicle. Investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact police.
