Prince William County Police Beat - Aug. 5, 2016

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On August 5 at 12:16AM, officers responded to the 7400 block of Willoughby Ln in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 21 year old man, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached by two masked men. During the encounter, one of the men displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The men took the victim’s backpack, cell phone, and a necklace before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects who were not located.
Suspect Descriptions:
Black male, between 18 & 20 years of age, 6’0”, 120-150lbs with a thin build and dark complexion
Last seen wearing a red jacket, thermal knit gloves and a black ski mask

Residential Burglary – On August 4 at 7:58PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 13900 block of Longwood Manor Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00AM and 7:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured window. A TV, gaming console, and other items were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On August 4 at 6:14PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13700 block of Mellowdew Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00AM and 6:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. A computer monitor, gaming console, MacBook Air, and two TV’s were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On August 4 at 3:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 6500 block of Alderwood Way in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00PM and 9:00PM on August 3. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Mail was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On August 4 at 5:42AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 1800 block of Cedar Cove Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that sometime between 1:00AM and 5:00AM, entry was attempted into the foyer area of the building through the main door which was found damaged. No entry is believed to have been made into the building and no property was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On August 3 at 2:56PM, officers responded to a juvenile shelter located in the 8600 block of Wellington Rd in Manassas (20110) to serve a detention order on a juvenile occupant of the facility. When the officer arrived, the juvenile fled from staff and into a nearby wooded area. The officer pursued the juvenile and attempted to detain her. A struggle ensued, at which point, the juvenile actively resisted and bit the officer’s arm twice. Additional officers arrived and were able to secure the juvenile. Minor injuries were reported by the officer. Following the investigation, the juvenile, identified as a 14 year old female, was arrested with additional charges.
