Police make arrests in pending robbery cases

**UPDATES**

Armed Robbery *ARREST – On August 3, detectives from the Robbery Unit identified the suspect involved in the robbery which occurred at the Wal-Mart located at 14000 Worth Ave in Woodbridge on July 31. Following the investigation, that suspect, identified as Clarence Leonard THOMAS Jr., was located and arrested without incident at his home on Madrigal Dr. Detectives are continuing their investigation into the similar incident reported at the Telegraph Commuter Lot which occurred after this incident.

Strong Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On July 31 at 11:36PM, officers responded to the Wal-Mart located at 14000 Worth Ave in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 61 year old woman, reported to police that she was walking to her vehicle in the parking lot when she was approached by the driver of a black pick-up truck. After a brief interaction, the driver opened the door and lunged towards the victim, grabbing her purse from her shoulder. The driver got back into the vehicle and struck a parked vehicle before fleeing. No injuries were reported.

Strong Armed Robbery *ARRESTS – On July 29, detectives from the Robbery Unit identified and arrested multiple suspects involved in the robbery which occurred in the area of Tackhouse Ct and Tackhouse Lp in Gainesville on July 17. The investigation revealed that the suspects conspired to rob the victim during the narcotics transaction. Following the investigation, three suspects, including two juveniles, were located and arrested. A fourth suspect was also identified. Detectives have since obtained arrest warrants for that suspect, identified as Steven Nawe SIAKAM.

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On July 17 at 9:53PM, officers responded to the area of Tackhouse Ct and Tackhouse Lp in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a robbery. The victim, an 18 year old man of Bristow, reported to police that he made arrangements to conduct a narcotics transaction with four known acquaintances in the above area. During the encounter, one of the men pulled out a knife and demanded money and the narcotics. The victim was assaulted by the suspects before they dispersed on foot. Minor injuries were reported. The investigation continues.

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On August 4 at 5:29AM, officers responded to the area of Palisades St and Harbor Side St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 46 year old man, reported to police that he was sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by three unknown men. During the encounter, two of the men brandished handguns while the other pulled out a knife. The suspects took the victim’s wallet, phone and other property before getting into a vehicle and fleeing the area. While officers were investigating this incident, a second victim, a 42 year old man, approached officers claiming he was also robbed. This victim reported to officers that an unknown man approached him, brandished a firearm, and took his cell phone. No injuries were reported.

Strong Armed Robbery – On August 3 at 9:48PM, officers responded to the 13200 block of Occoquan Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 48 year old man, reported to police that he was asleep behind a business in the above area when he woke to two unknown men assaulting him and demanding his money. The victim was able to get away and run to a nearby Fire Station where police were contacted. While investigating this incident, a second victim, a 31 year old man, approached officers claiming he was also robbed by multiple suspects. This victim reported to officers that the suspects assaulted him before taking his money, cell phone, and wallet. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects. While checking the area, a third victim, a 19 year old man, was located and reported that he was assaulted and robbed of his cell phone by several suspects. All three victims sustained minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital for further treatment. The suspects were not located and could only described as mix of white and black males.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On August 3 at 10:40PM, officers responded to the 19000 block of Fuller Heights Rd in Triangle (22172) to investigate a shots fired call. A caller reported to police that two gunshots were heard in the above area. A vehicle, unknown description, was also heard leaving the area. Officers checked the area and located a shell casing in the parking lot. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Residential Burglary – On August 3 at 8:11PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 8000 block of Lyon Cir in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:00AM and 7:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Money was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On August 3 at 10:37AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5000 block of Lynwood Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:30AM and 10:30AM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through a rear window which was found damaged. Jewelry, coins, and other property were reported missing.
