Students in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and animal classes at Fauquier High School are collecting items for pets affected by the Texas floods, according to Karen Parkinson, information coordinator for Fauquier County Public Schools.
The drive for pet supply donations will end at the close of the school day this Friday, Sept. 1. Items may be dropped off at the front office at FHS. Food items should be unopened, and supplies should be new or gently used, Parkinson said.
Following is a list of items needed:
Dog food, wet and dry
Cat food, wet and dry
Treats for dogs and cats
Puppy formula
Kitten formula
Kitty litter
Toys for dogs and cats
Crates/cages of all sizes
Collars and leashes
Towels
Blankets
Food bowls
Small animal cages and supplies (for birds, hamsters, reptiles, etc.)
Mops and brooms
Paper towels
Baby wipes
Clorox
Dawn dish soap
Laundry soap
