National Night Out on lawn of Manassas Museum tonight, Aug. 7

Tonight, Tuesday, Aug. 7, the Manassas City Police Department will be hosting its annual family-friendly National Night Out event from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Manassas Museum, 9101 Prince William Street, Manassas. The event includes demonstrations by first responders, free Museum admission, opportunities to meet City staff and volunteers who help keep residents safe year-round, a child ID workshop, music, food and fun for all ages.

National Night Out(tm) (NNO) is “America’s Night Out Against Crime,” when neighbors come together and take a stand against crime.  According to the Manassas Police Department news release, “NNO sends the message to criminals the Manassas community does and will continue to fight back against crime.”

The night also raises safety and drug awareness, strengthens community spirit, and enhances the partnership between residents and first-responders which makes every effort of safety possible. The community service-oriented, family-friendly gathering is open to all.
