Men charged with assaulting a police officer and EMS personnel

The following arrests were among those reported by Prince William County Police Department on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016:*ARRESTS**

Attempted Malicious Wounding on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] –
On September 5 at 10:44PM, Prince William County police officers responded to a residence located in the 16100 block of Olmstead Ln in Woodbridge (22191) for a disorderly person inside the residence destroying property.

When officers arrived, they made contact with the man, identified as the accused, who was holding a piece of shattered glass. When the officers attempted to detain the accused, he swung the piece of glass at the officers missing them. During the encounter, the accused kicked an officer several times before eventually being detained without further incident. Upon further investigation, the accused was determined to be intoxicated.

Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Keith Leroy KAISER, Jr., 19, of 16134 Olmstead Ln in Woodbridge
Charged with attempted malicious wounding of LEO, assault & battery on a LEO, destruction of property, and resisting arrest
Court Date: October 6, 2016 | Bond: Held WITHOUT bond

Assault & Battery on Emergency Medical Services [EMS] Personnel –
On September 6 at 1:02PM, officers responded to the area of Wellington Rd and Sudley Manor Dr in Manassas for a disorderly person. Several callers reported to police that an unknown man was jumping in and out of traffic.

During the encounters, the accused punched and kicked several vehicles as they drove by–causing minor damage to the vehicles and several lacerations to the arm of the accused.

When officers arrived, the accused was eventually taken into custody without incident. Officers immediately contacted EMS personnel who responded to treat the accused. 

While EMS personnel were treating the accused, he became agitated and struck an EMS medic in the leg. The accused was quickly detained without further incident by a Prince William County police officer. No injuries were reported by the EMS medic.  Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
