Manassas Police investigate three larcenies from vehicles, in same time frame, in same neighborhood

On October 25, 2014 Manassas City Police met with residents in the Wellington community for three reports of a larcenies from vehicle.  The larcenies reportedly occurred during the overnight hours of October 24th and were discovered on October 25th.
1)    10100 block of Strawflower Ln | Stolen: several items from his vehicle to include DVDs, CDs, electronics, clothing, and jewelry
2)    10100 block of Strawflower Ln | Stolen: several items from his vehicle to include an iPod and men’s sunglasses
3)    9200 block of Caladium Dr | Stolen: several items to include a stereo face plate and cell phone chargers
There were no signs of forced entry and each vehicle was parked in front of its owner’s residence at the time of the theft.

**Arrests**

Malicious Wounding – Arrest
At approximately 1:55AM on October 27, 2014 Manassas City Police responded to Tommy’s Place Bar & Grill, located at 8910 Mathis Ave, for a report of an assault.  Upon arrival, officers observed evidence of a fight having taken place in the parking lot.  Officers then located the victim, 26-year-old male, at a business nearby and arranged for medical attention to address his non-life-threatening injuries to the face and head.  According to witnesses, the suspect, 24-year-old Carlos RAMIREZ VANEGAS, struck the victim several times in the head with a beer bottle and also kicked the victim in the head before fleeing the scene with another male.  He was located moments later by officers at his residence at 10306 Butternut Cir.  RAMIREZ VANEGAS was charged with malicious wounding with malice and public intoxication.  He was held without bond and has a pending court date of November 25, 2014.
