Manassas Police charge 17-year-old in stolen vehicle incident

Stolen Auto – Arrest
At approximately 10:45AM on August 27, 2014 Manassas City Police responded to the 9200 block of Taney Rd to assist Prince William County Sheriff’s Office with locating the driver of a vehicle who had fled during a traffic stop. 

Upon making contact with the owner of the vehicle, officers learned that the 2004 Hyundai Elantra, valued at $1,200.00, had been stolen from Formby St in Bristow, VA earlier in the morning. 

Through further investigation, officers were able to identify a suspect and located him at a residence nearby.
 
The suspect, a 17-year-old male of Manassas, was charged with motor vehicle theft and driving without a license.  He was released pending a court date in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
