Suspicious Event?
On Nov. 5, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 9100 block of Landgreen St for a report of a suspicious event. The reporting party, a 15-year-old male, told officers that at approximately 7:15 p.m., he was walking home when he was approached by an unknown male at the intersection of Grant Ave and Longstreet Dr. The male, who spoke with a thick Spanish accent, told him to get into the vehicle he was driving. When the juvenile refused, the male subject insisted that they knew each other. The juvenile walked away to safety and called for help.
          Description of subject: Hispanic male, middle-aged, with closely cropped dark hair
          Description of vehicle: Red, mid-size sports utility vehicle (SUV)

Burglary
On Nov. 5, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to a business located at 8521 Quarry Rd for a report of a burglary. The reporting party told officers that during the overnight hours of Nov. 4, someone entered the building through an unlocked window and stole a laptop valued at $200.

Destruction of Property
On Nov. 4, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to Neibauer Dental Care (10051 Market Cir) for a report of a vandalism. The reporting party told officers that at approximately 5:45 p.m., she heard a loud noise and discovered the rear business door had been shattered, possibly by a BB gun. Damage to the door was estimated at $1,000.

Fraud
On Nov. 3, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident for a report of a fraud. The reporting party told officers that on Oct. 26, he responded to an advertisement on Craigslist for a 2005 Acura TL. The seller asked for the payment to be sent via pre-paid cards on eBay Inc, and provided an email address and a phone number for customer service. The victim complied and submitted prepaid card information to the seller through eBay Inc. The seller confirmed receipt of payment and said she would ship the victim the vehicle, but the victim did not hear from the seller thereafter and did not receive the vehicle.
