Man held without bond after arrest on malicious wounding charge in Manassas
**ARRESTS**
Malicious Wounding in Manassas – On July 3 at 3:48PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10900 block of Lucasville Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate an assault, according to a report from Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman.
The victim, a 58-year-old man of Manassas, reported to police that he and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused repeatedly struck the victim. At one point, the victim was knocked to the ground where the accused continued the assault.
Other parties intervened and police were contacted. The victim was treated at the scene. Following the investigation, the accused, identified Thomas S. RATCHFORD, as was arrested.
