Lyft driver accused in alleged sexual assault of passenger in Gainesville

**ARRESTS**

Rape | Sexual Assault – On July 18 at 9:28PM, officers responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the Gainesville (20155) area of Prince William County earlier that morning. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 33-year-old woman, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a driver for LYFT, near her residence in Gainesville. The victim contacted LYFT via the phone app earlier that morning, shortly after midnight, to request a ride to her residence. Upon arriving in the area of her home, the accused allegedly assaulted the victim. The victim returned to her residence and contacted police later that day. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Amir Sami HANDOUK, was arrested.

Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On July 20 at 5:09PM, officers responded to investigate a stabbing that was reported to have occurred at a home located in the 4100 block of Gardensen Dr in Woodbridge (22193). The victim, a 46-year-old man, reported to police that he was involved in a verbal altercation inside the residence with a male family member. The altercation escalated when the two men began to physically fight. During the fight, the accused, the girlfriend of one of the men, retrieved a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the back. The parties separated and the victim went to an area hospital for treatment where police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Cindy Catherine LUNA, was located and arrested without further incident.

Abduction | Domestic Assault & Battery – On July 22 at 3:30AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4500 block of Kendall Dr in Woodbridge (22192) investigate an assault. The victim, a 21-year-old woman, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim, grabbed her, and refused to let her leave. At one point, the victim fled to her car and locked herself inside. The accused was able to rip a piece of molding off the vehicle and smash the windshield before fleeing on foot. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 search for the accused who was not located. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Jonathan Emanuel CONTRERAS CABRERA. The accused was eventually arrested on July 23.
