Larceny from Building

On August 8, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 9200 block of Taney Rd for a report of a larceny. The reporting party told officers that sometime during the overnight hours, someone entered his backyard and stole several items valued together at $3,000. Among the stolen items were a generator, Stihl gas-powered leaf blower, Honda power washer, and heat gun.

Burglary
On August 8, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 8600 block of Bruton Parish Ct for a report of a burglary. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 4:15 a.m. and 4:40 a.m., someone forced entry into his residence and stole a silver handgun and a black and grey laptop, valued together at $1,115.

Fraud
On August 6, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a citizen for a report of fraud that took place on the 8700 block of Ditmars Ct. The victim, a 46-year-old male of Manassas, told officers that he was contacted by someone claiming to represent the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The caller told the resident that he owed a large sum of money to the IRS and instructed him to deposit the payment as cash into a bank account he provided. The resident complied and was contacted again by the caller who demanded more payment in the form of gift cards. The victim complied and after suspecting the transaction was fraudulent, contacted Police.

Aggravated Assault
On August 5, 2016, a Manassas City Police Officer was on regular patrol in the area of the Grant Ave Shopping Center when he was flagged down by an injured citizen. The victim, a 53-year-old male of Manassas, told officers that a few moments prior to their arrival, an unknown male subject approached and stabbed him in the abdomen before fleeing on foot southward on Grant Ave. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Investigation ongoing.
Description of suspect: Black male, 5’8”-5’10”, 160-190lbs, long dreadlocks, wearing black duty-style pants, blue shirt, and a black backpack

Vandalism to Auto
On August 4, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a citizen at BB&T Bank located at 9201 Church St for a report of a vandalism to auto. The victim told officers that at approximately 11 a.m., he learned that the rear hatch door on his vehicle had been shattered, resulting in $500 in damage. The victim believed the vandalism to be related to an incident of road rage he was in with another driver just prior to the time the vandalism took place. The victim said that the confrontation with the second driver began at Zebedee St and continued until the intersection of Grant Ave and Church St.
Description of second driver and possible suspect: Hispanic male, 25- to 30-years-old, clean shaven, black mid-length hair. Wearing a blue and red “Barcelona” shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes with long socks. At the time of the road rage incident he was seen driving an early model, silver, 2-door Honda Civic with rust on the roof.

Larceny from Auto
On August 2, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 8300 block of Plantation Ln for a report of a larceny from auto. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 9:30 p.m. on August 1 and 1:45 p.m. on August 2, someone broke into his vehicle and rummaged through its compartments. The victim’s wallet which contained bank cards and identification was missing.

Vandalism, Larceny from Auto
On August 1, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident in the area of Stonewall Rd and McKenzie Cir for a report of a larceny from auto. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., someone broke his driver’s side rear door window and stole a pair of tennis shoes, a large tool kit, and a car jack set valued together at over $400.
