Four arrested in connection with PWC’s third murder of 2015 in Gainesville; fifth suspect sought

Murder Investigation *ARRESTS – Between September 14th and 15th, detectives from the Homicide Unit made several arrests in connection to the murder of Claude JACKSON III which occurred in the area of Old Linton Hall Rd and Charis Ave in Gainesville on September 12th.

The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred in the parking lot of a nearby shopping center between the three victims and the suspects. During that altercation, shots were fired and the three victims were struck. As a result of the shooting, Claude Jackson was killed and a second victim was critically wounded.

This encounter was quickly determined to be between known acquaintances and was later connected to a verbal altercation between the men which occurred the week prior at an establishment in Chantilly.

After the extensive investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the arrests of five suspects involved, four of which are in police custody.

The fifth suspect, identified as Alvin JONES, remains wanted and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding this murder or the whereabouts of Alvin JONES is asked to call Crime Solvers at 703-670-3700 or 1-866-411-TIPS.

          Described as a black male, 5’11”, 165lbs with long black dreadlocks and brown eyes

          Charged with murder and aggravated malicious wounding

          Calvin JONES, 31, of 8637 Sumter Ct in Manassas Park

Charged with murder, felony assault by mob, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Derrick Nathaniel JONES, 26, of 8637 Sumter Ct in Manassas Park

          Charged with accessory to murder and felony assault by mob

David Lennel BROADNAX, 31, of 9590 Covington Pl in Manassas

          Charged with accessory to murder and felony assault by mob

Murder Investigation – On September 12th at 1:50AM, officers responded to the area of Old Linton Hall Rd and Charis Ave in Gainesville (20155) for a shots fired call. Officers arrived and located two adult male victims in a nearby parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to nearby hospitals where one victim, identified as a 23 year old man of Gainesville, died as a result of his injuries. The second victim, identified as a 22 year old man of Bristow, is suffering from life threatening injuries. While investigating, officers were approached by a third victim, identified as a 24 year old man of Manassas, suffering from a minor graze wound to the hand. The suspect left the scene prior to police arrival, possibly in a light colored SUV. Detectives from the Homicide Unit did determine that this incident was not random and had stemmed from a physical altercation just prior to the shooting. All three victims were known to one another. The relationship between the shooting suspect and the victims is currently being investigated. This homicide investigation has been classified as a murder. This is Prince William County’s 3rd murder of 2015. The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 703-792-6500.
