Five Manassas residents report vandalism to their vehicles Feb. 12-15

Vandalisms to Autos
Between Feb. 12 and 15, 2016, Manassas City Police met with five residents for separate reports of vandalisms to their vehicles. An investigation is ongoing.

1 - 9007 Centreville Rd (Don Julio Restaurant), incident occurred after dark on Feb. 13, front windshield shattered, estimated cost of damage $300.

2 - 9700 block of Grant Ave, incident occurred between 3 and 4 p.m. on Feb. 13, rear windshield shattered, estimated cost of damage $500.

3 - 9000 block of Merrimack Dr, incident occurred between 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 and 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 13,
Driver’s side front and rear window, passenger’s side front window, and rear windshield shattered*, estimated cost of damage $500.

4 - 8800 block of Grant Ave, incident occurred approximately 2 p.m. on Feb. 12, rear windshield shattered*, estimated cost of damage $500.

5 - 9500 block of Battery Heights Blvd, incident occurred after 9 a.m. on Feb. 14, three tires slashed, estimated cost of damage $700.

*Damage appeared to have been caused by BB pellets or a similar object, according to Manassas Police.

Stolen Auto
On Feb. 18, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 8900 block of Princeton Park Dr for a report of a stolen auto. The victim told officers that sometime between 3 p.m. on Feb. 14 and 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 18, his minivan was stolen from where it was parked on the 8900 block of Portner Ave.
Description of stolen vehicle: 2002 Dodge Caravan, green, valued at $3,000

**Arrests**

Stolen Autos – Arrest

On Feb. 5, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 9700 block of Beech Pl for a report of a stolen auto.

The reporting party told officers that at approximately 8:40 p.m., he heard his 1998 Ford Windstar van (valued at $1,000) start up where it was parked on the street in front of his residence. When he looked outside, he observed the vehicle being driven towards Grant Ave by an unknown subject.

With the cooperation of Prince William County Police, the stolen vehicle was recovered on Feb. 6 in the area of Parkgate Dr and Aden Rd (20181).

Through further investigation, Manassas City Investigators identified the suspect as Victor L. JACKSON. On Feb. 17, JACKSON, 18, of 9853 Buckner Rd was arrested at his residence without incident and charged with Grand Larceny. He has a pending court date of March 29, 2016.
