Attempted abduction Aug. 18 at Stonewall Park in Manassas
An adult woman who was out running on a trail at Stonewall Park at 8351 Stonewall Road in Manassas at approximately 9:38 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18 was the victim of an attempted abduction, according to Manassas City Police Department reports.
City police officers responded to the scene. Their investigation showed that the woman was approached by an unknown male. During the encounter the suspect grabbed her and assaulted her, police said. The victim was able to escape and sustained minor injuries, police said.
The suspect, described as a Hispanic male in this late thirties, fled the scene on foot.
