Residential burglary, stolen vehicle, hit and run in Manassas

Residential Burglary**ARREST**
On February 6, 2019 at 12:32 a.m., officers from the Manassas City Police Department responded to the 8500 block of Richmond Ave initially for a report of a prowler. Upon further investigation officers determined the suspected prowler, had made entry into a resident’s garage before fleeing the area. Responding officers circulated the area and located the suspect who led police on a brief foot chase before eventually being taken into custody after a minor use of force. No injuries were reported. The suspect was later identified as Saquan Milik PAYNE, a 22-year-old resident of Manassas. PAYNE was charged with Burglary and Theft from a Motor Vehicle, and is currently being held on $5,000.00 secured bond. PAYNE is currently scheduled to appear in court on March 13, 2019.

Stolen Vehicle
On February 5, 2019 at 5:30 p.m., an officer responded to the 9100 block of Prince William St for a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim told police she parked her silver 2019 Chrysler Town and Country earlier in the morning in the parking garage, and returned later in the evening and noticed her car was missing. A short time later patrol officers located the victim’s vehicle unoccupied on the 9700 block of Main St with minor damage. The vehicle was processed for evidence and turned back over to the victim. Felony Hit and Run
On February 4, 2019 at 8:36 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Centreville Rd/Liberia Ave for a report of a vehicle crash. The investigation revealed the victim’s vehicle was struck in the intersection by the suspect vehicle. The victim told police the suspect vehicle then fled the scene. The victim and several passengers inside the victim’s vehicle were treated on scene for minor injuries. The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Toyota sedan with front end damage. The investigation is ongoing.
