Assault by mob alleged in two recent altercations, one in Manassas, one in Woodbridge

**INCIDENTS**

Malicious Wounding | Assault by Mob – On March 24 at 11:07PM, officers responded to the 7800 block of W Point Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a fight. The victim, a 16-year-old male juvenile of Manassas, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached by a large group of Hispanic males. During the encounter, the victim was assaulted. The suspects then fled the area and the victims contacted police. The victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Officers checked the area and did not locate any suspects. No suspect descriptions are available at this time. This incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Attempted Armed Robbery – On March 27 at 7:38PM, officers responded to the Shell service station located at 12522 Gordon Blvd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown man entered the business brandishing a handgun and demanding money. The suspect eventually fled the business on foot without taking any money after the employee could not open the cash register. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched for the suspect who was no located. The investigation continues.

Black male of an unknown age, between 5’10”-5’11”, with an average build
Last seen wearing a grey mask, all black clothing, and multi-colored basketball shoes

Strong Armed Robbery – On March 25 at 12:17AM, officers responded to the 15100 block of Wentwood Ln in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 20-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was in the above area when he was approached by an unknown man asking for money. During the encounter, the suspect grabbed the victim’s backpack and fled on foot. The victim chased after the suspect and eventually was able to wrestle the backpack away from the suspect. No injuries were reported. The victim’s cell phone was reported missing. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect who was not located. The investigation continues.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On March 25 at 11:54PM, officers responded to the 13300 block of Kenbury Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting in progress. The investigation revealed that the accused was involved in a verbal altercation with an acquaintance at a residence located in the above area. Officers determined that the accused fired a round into the air while leaving the residence. No injuries or property damage were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained a warrant for the arrest of the accused. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

Wanted for reckless handling of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Residential Burglary – On March 24 at 2:21PM, officers responded to the Comfort Inn and Suites located in the 7350 Williamson Blvd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. A resident of the hotel reported to police that sometime between 7:30AM and 10:00PM on March 23, entry was made into the victim’s room by an unknown person. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the room.  A computer laptop was reported missing.

Attempted Commercial Burglary – On March 25 at 2:25PM, officers responded to the Pier 1 Imports located at 13261 Gateway Center Dr in Gainesville (20155) to investigate an attempted burglary. A manager reported that sometime between 11:00PM on March 23 and 10:00AM on March 24, entry was attempted into the business through a rear door that was found damaged. No entry was made into the business and no property was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On March 25 at 12:30PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12400 block of Hatchway Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported that sometime between 9:00PM on March 23 and 10:00AM on March 25, entry was attempted into the residence through a rear patio door that was found damaged. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding | Assault by Mob – On March 25 at 6:32PM, officers responded to investigate a fight that occurred in the area of Georgetown Rd and the River Oaks Apartments in Woodbridge (22191) earlier that afternoon. The investigation revealed that two victims, a 15-year-old male juvenile and 19-year-old man of Woodbridge, were walking in the above area when they were approached by a large group of juvenile males. During the encounter, a fight broke out and the victims were assaulted. At some point, one of the victims has his shoes taken. The parties eventually separated and victims left the area before contacting police. Both of the victims were transported to local hospitals with serious, non-life threatening injuries. Officers quickly determined that this incident was not random and was gang related. Upon further investigation, detectives with the Gang Unit identified four of the suspects involved. All four of the suspects were taken into custody without incident later that evening. The investigation continues.

Indecent Exposure – On March 24 at 5:00PM, officers responded to the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Cir in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an indecent exposure. The victims, a 44-year-old man and 16-year-old female juvenile of Woodbridge, reported to police that an unknown man, later identified as the accused, was sitting in a vehicle parked in the above location. As the victims walked by, the accused exposed himself and made an obscene gesture. Officers arrived in the area and detained the accused without incident. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On March 25 at 5:12PM, officers responded to the Walmart located at 8386 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shoplifter. When officers arrived, they located the man and arrested him without incident. While being processed at the Adult Detention Center, the accused spit on the officer’s hand. Following the encounter, the accused was charged with the below listed offenses.
