INCIDENT REPORTS
Armed Robbery

On Oct. 6 at 2:30 a.m., police responded to the 15000 block of Sunny Ridge Ct. in Woodbridge for a robbery. The investigation revealed that the male victims, 18 of Woodbridge and 22, were exiting a residence in the above area when they were approached by two unknown men. Both men displayed handguns and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. The victims could only tell police that the two men were black males and that both wore black shirts and had red bandanas over their faces.

Armed Robbery
On Oct. 6 at 1:08 a.m., police responded to the parking lot of the Hard Times Cafe at 14389 Potomac Mills Road in Woodbridge for a robbery. The male victim, 34 of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and a female acquaintance were in the parking lot when they were approached by two unknown men. One of the men displayed a handgun and took the victim’s wallet containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency and a watch valued around $1,200 before both men fled on foot. No injuries were reported.  Lookout: Two black males— first male was between 25 and 35, 6’01” 220 lbs., medium build, black hair, brown eyes, goatee. Last seen wearing a red and white jacket, red hat and blue jeans– displayed the handgun. Second male was between 35 and 45, 5’10”, medium build, black hair, brown eyes. Last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

ARRESTS
Sexual Assault
On Oct. 5 at 3:54 a.m., police responded to investigate a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred in the 3000 block of Rocky Mount Lane in Dumfries. The investigation revealed that the female victim, 17 of Dumfries, had been sexually assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance. The accused was arrested without incident and charged. Arrested: Derek Dione Curtis, 54, of the 3000 block of Rocky Mount Lane in Dumfries. Charged with aggravated sexual battery and taking indecent liberties with a child. Court date unavailable, held without bond.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm
On Oct. 5 at 11:03 p.m., police responded to the 5300 block of Yellow Turtle Place in Woodbridge for a brandishing. The investigation revealed that the male victims, 25 and 22 both of Woodbridge, had gone to the residence of the accused to pick up paperwork for a vehicle they had just purchased from the accused. A verbal altercation ensued that escalated. During the encounter, the accused allegedly assaulted one of the victims, the 25 year old, and at one point, brandished a handgun and discharged a round into the ground near the victims. Neither victim was struck as a result of the discharged round. Minor injuries were reported from the assault. The accused was arrested without incident. Arrested: Rasheed Jamel McClaude, 27, of 5303 Yellow Turtle Place in Woodbridge. Charged with two counts of reckless handling of a firearm, two counts of brandishing and one count of assault and battery. Court date set for Nov. 15, 2011, held on a $10,000 secured bond.

OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary
On Oct. 5 at 6:35 p.m., police responded to the 4500 block of Tullamore Estate Road in Gainesville for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 5:30 a.m. and 6:35 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear sliding glass door that had been forced opened. No items were reported missing.

Burglary
On Oct. 3 at 7:45 p.m., police responded to the 13100 block of Kinnicuttt Dr. in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 1:20 and 4 p.m. Oct. 1. Entry appeared to have been made through an opened door on an attached garage. Two mountain bicycles valued around $500 were reported missing. No entry was gained into the main residence.

Attempted Burglary
On Oct. 3 at 11:13 a.m., police responded to the 5400 block of Amberview Ct. in Manassas for an alarm. Police arrived and discovered a rear basement window that had been broken out. No entry is believed to have been made into the residence due to the alarm activation.

Destruction of Property
On Oct. 5 at 4:58 p.m., police responded to the 3000 block of Antrim Ct. in Dumfries for a larceny at a vacant residence. Property owner reported to police that between 1 p.m. Sept. 30 and 1 p.m. Oct. 2, an unknown person(s) dismantled an outside air conditioning unit and stole copper valued around $50. No entry was made into the main residence.
