INCIDENT REPORTS
Attempted Armed Robbery

On Sept. 11 at 1:13 a.m., police responded to the area of Sudley Road and Branch Lane in Manassas for a robbery. The male victim, 22 of Roanoke, reported to police he was walking in the area above when he was approached by an unknown man who displayed a long knife and demanded money. The victim fled from the man towards the Red Roof Inn on Balls Ford Road where he contacted police. No injuries were reported. Lookout:  Hispanic or Arabic male, between 20 and 30, 6’0” 150-180 lbs., medium build, black spiky style hair. Last seen wearing a black tank top, black shirt with a red stripe and white striped shoes.

Strong Armed Robbery
On Sept. 9 at 11:12 p.m., police responded to investigate a robbery, which was reported to have occurred at the Bob Evans Restaurant at 14490 Smoketown Road in Woodbridge. The male victim, 30 of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was involved in a verbal altercation with two unknown men at the restaurant. The victim left the restaurant and got into his vehicle where the suspects again encountered him at the intersection of Bixby and Bowes lanes and took a bag of food. There, a physical altercation ensued between the three men. During the encounter, one of the men displayed a knife before fleeing the area. Minor injuries were sustained to the victim. Lookout: Two black males— first male: unknown age, around 5’09” 149-160 lbs., braided hair. Last seen wearing a white tank top and white shorts. Second male: unknown age, around 5’10” 180-190 lbs., short hair. Last seen wearing a black shirt and white shorts.

Strong Armed Robbery
On Sept. 9 at 6:14 p.m., police responded to the 5100 block of Waterway Dr. in Montclair for a robbery. The male victim, 18 of Montclair, reported to police that he was in the area of the Montclair Center Shopping Center when he was approached by an unknown man who asked for money. When the victim refused, the man punched the victim and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The victim was able to get away and contact police. Minor injuries were sustained to the victim. Lookout: Black male, 17 to 20, 6’0” 160 lbs., thin build, black hair. Last seen wearing a green shirt and khaki-colored shorts.

ARRESTS
Assault & Battery on Law Enforcement Officer

On Sept. 11 at 1:47 p.m., police conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Dale Blvd and Gerry Lane in Dale City. Upon stopping his vehicle, the driver, the accused, immediately exited his vehicle and approached the officer. The accused was given commands by the officer, which he ignored. At one point, the accused attempted to flee and pushed the officer to the ground. After a short foot pursuit the accused was taken into custody without further incident. Minor injuries were sustained by the officer. Arrested: Rufus Grinkley, 54, of 4737 Still Pl. in Woodbridge. Charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, driving under the influence, resisting arrest, driving on a suspended license and no valid inspection. Court date unavailable, held on a $10,000 secured bond.

Unlawful Wounding
On Sept. 9 at 9:12 p.m., police responded to the 14400 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge for a fight. The male victim, 48 of Manassas, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter the accused allegedly struck the victim with a beer bottle. The victim was able to detain the accused until police arrived. Minor injuries were sustained to the victim. Arrested: Elias Alexander Mendez-Delcid, 38, of 1380 Longview Dr #2 in Woodbridge. Charged with unlawful wounding. Court date set for Oct. 31, 2011, held on a $3,500 secured bond.

OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary

On Sept. 10 at 11:39 p.m., police responded to the 4400 block of Whitmer Dr. in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 3:30 and 6 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through an unsecured rear sliding glass door. A laptop and jewelry valued around $3,000, in addition to, an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency were reported missing. 

Burglary
On Sept. 7 at 11 a.m., police responded to the 14600 block of Birchdale Ave. in Dale City for a burglary to a vacant home. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 10:30 a.m. Sept. 5 and 10:40 a.m. Sept. 7. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry appeared to have been made through either an unsecured window or unsecured door. Copper piping from an interior water furnace, valued around $400, was reported missing.
