City police respond to gunshots on Plantation Lane; city woman reports she was victim of fraud

Vandalisms to Auto
At approximately 9 p.m. on March 7, 2016, Manassas City Police responded to the 8300 block of Plantation Lane in reference to a possible shooting. Officers discovered that approximately 30 minutes prior to their arrival, several vehicles parked along Plantation Lane had been damaged by what appeared to have been BB pellets. The reporting party told officers he was in his vehicle at the time his rear windshield was shot out. A total of four vehicles were found to have sustained similar damages, valued together at $1,400.
Description of possible suspect: White Hispanic male, mid 20s, with shoulder-length black hair and wearing a grey hooded shirt or jacket. Seen driving a late-model gray, two-door Honda Civic

Larceny from Vehicle
On March 8, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident from the 10200 block of Woodmont Ct for a report of a larceny from vehicle. The reporting party told officers that sometime between March 2 and 5, someone stole his black handgun from a lockbox in his vehicle. The handgun was valued at $550.

Burglary
On March 7, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 9000 block of McRae Ct for a report of a burglary. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., an unknown subject entered through a rear basement window, causing $200 in damage. Several items were also reported as stolen from the residence. Among them were electronics and jewelry, valued together at $1,950.

Burglary
On March 7, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 9100 block of Main St for a report of a burglary. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., an unknown subject broke into the garage and ransacked the cabinets inside. Through further investigation, officers also discovered that someone had forced his or her way through into the residence through a rear door and stole several items from inside. Among them were electronics and jewelry, valued together at $4,200.

Fraud
On March 4, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident for a report of a fraud. The 29-year-old woman of Manassas told officers that she had been a victim of fraud as a result of a relationship that began through an online dating website. The victim said shortly after she began dating the suspect, he asked her to deposit three checks into her banking account and withdraw the cash for him. The victim complied and after learning the checks were fraudulent, was unable to recover the undisclosed amount of cash she gave the suspect.

Vandalism to Auto
On March 3, 2016, Manassas City Police met with a resident for a report of a vandalism to auto. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 4 p.m. on March 2 and 11:15 a.m. on March 3, someone had forced entry into her locked vehicle, which was parked on the 9200 block of Byrd Dr at the time. When the victim entered her vehicle in the morning, she discovered the doors unlocked damages to two doors estimated at $450, and items from her glove compartment scattered on the floor. No items were reported stolen.
