September 2 – 6th Annual Craft Festival! At The Winery at La Grange in Haymarket
The Winery at La Grange is celebrating their 11th Anniversary at this 6th annual Craft Festival! There will be wine tastings, live music, The Inside Scoop ice cream truck and many more amazing local vendors!

September 9 – 7th Annual Bands, Brews, & Barbecue in Historic Downtown Manassas
This annual event features award winning craft beers for sampling and Northern Virginia’s best barbecue – as well as incredible live music.

September 9 – 2 Years of Beer - 2nd Anniversary Party at Ornery Beer Company
From being to first Brewpub in Woodbridge to winning a Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal for their Light of Cologne Kolsch, to being voted the Best Brewery/Distillery in Prince William 2 years in a row! Ornery Beer Company has come a long way and they’re inviting you to join them for their 2nd anniversary party!

September 16 – Heroic Aleworks Maryland Renaissance Fest Bus Trip
Heroic Aleworks is organizing an excursion to the Maryland Renaissance Festival and you’re invited! The bus will arrive at Revel Grove a little where you’ll have the afternoon to eat, drink, and be merry. Rendevouz at the Dragon Inn before heading home in the evening for one last beer.

September 19 – Steal the Stein - Oktoberfest Tapping 2017 at Ornery Beer Company
Celebrate the festivity with Ornery Beer Co. with delicious German Specials like Schnitzel, Sauerbraten, Kartoffelpuffer, Brats, Strudel and so much more! Visitors are encouraged to wear their best Lederhosen or Dirndl for 10% off of food!

September 23 – Oktoberfest at Brew Republic Bierwerks
It’s Oktoberfest in the Republic! Brew Republic Bierwerks is bringing the world famous German beer festival from Munich to Woodbridge. Join them for great beer, delicious German-inspired food, traditional music, cool vendors, and fun, both in the tap room and the expanded outdoor biergarten. There will also be a marzen competition, featuring several locally brewed marzenbiers (Oktoberfest lagers) from several of your favorite local breweries.

September 30 – Manassas Steins, Wines, & Spirits Festival
The Manassas Steins, Wines & Spirits Festival is a unique opportunity to sample your choice in beverage while listening to live music at the Harris Pavilion in Historic Downtown Manassas. Taste beer from local craft breweries; wine from local wineries; and local distilled spirits. Great food from some of the best food vendors in northern VA.

September Events in Prince William County & Manassas, VA

September 1 – Music on the Mill in Historic Occoquan
Come on out to River Mill Park to hear some reggae and rock music from the group FeelFree. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome.

September 2 – Yoga on the Lawn at Rippon Lodge
Enjoy performing yoga on the lawn with amazing views of the Potomac River and historic Rippon Lodge in the background. No one could ask for a better outdoor venue to exercise. Join certified instructor Christopher Glowacki for an hour long Vinyasa yoga practice.

September 2-3 – Overnight Stay in Brentsville Jail
From 1822 to 1893 the Brentsville jail housed numerous people awaiting trial, and fate. The prisoners were accused of various crimes from theft, to poisoning, and even murder. In 1872 a prominent Prince William resident was gunned down in his cell while awaiting his trail. Spend the night in the nearly 200 year old building and learn about some of the people who were imprisoned here

September 9 – Historic Brenstville Schoolhouse Happy Hour
Looking for a unique way to start the new school year? Take part in the Historic Brentsville Schoolhouse Happy Hour! Receive two drink tickets to use over the course of the evening, and come and explore the 1920s schoolhouse to learn about teaching in a one room schoolhouse during the Great Depression.

September 9 – Family Day – “Robotics” at the National Museum of Marine Corps
Come on out to the National Museum of the Marine Corps for the monthly Family Day, and this month the theme is Robotics. Discover how the Marine Corps Explosive Ordinance Disposal robots function, and try your hand at operating one. Experts in this field will be on hand to answer any questions.

September 9 – School is Back in Session
Going to school was very different a hundred years ago than it is today. Visit the one room school houses at Lucasville School and Brentsville Courthouse to learn about the different ways that students learned in a segregated society. Try some of the tools that were used to teach in each of the schools, some of the games they played, and even make a craft at each school to take home!

September 9 – Potomac Blockade Bus Tour
Cruise along the Potomac River shoreline and view sites that were critical to the Confederate forces’ successful blockade of Washington D.C. from September 1861 through March 1862. Local historians will discuss the significance of the Blockade and of the gun batteries and camps that supported the Confederate efforts.

September 9-10 – Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park Tours
This guided tours will take you through the hallowed grounds that contain camps, cemeteries, and battlefields. Learn about Camp Jones and the battles that took place in 1862 and 1863.

September 11 – For our Troops Charity Golf at Bull Run Golf Club
For this year’s Patriot Day, you will have an opportunity to play alongside wounded warriors while advancing the Coalition’s mission of assisting the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedoms.

September 15-16 – Mid-Atlantic Police Motorcycle Rodeo at Potomac Mills Mall
Organized by the Mid-Atlantic Police Motorcycle Riding Committee, 100-150 motorcycle police officers will be competing in a riding skills rodeo. This provides training and networking for the officers and fun for the public to watch. They are also raising funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation so come on out to support a great cause!

September 16 – Under the Streetlamp at the Hylton Performing Arts Center
In an evening of unforgettable entertainment, Under the Streetlamp transports audiences back to an era of sharkskin suits and flashy cars with their tight harmonies and slick dance moves. Enjoy popular hits from The Drifters, Roy Orbison, Nat King Cole, The Beach Boys, and The Beatles, plus a show-stopping salute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons that is guaranteed to bring down the house.

September 16 – Dance the Evening Away at the Rippon Lodge Canteen
From Hollywood to New York City, canteens were the place for soldiers to relax and enjoy good food, music, entertainment and dancing during World War II. Dance the night away at Rippon Lodge as it is transformed into a dance hall reminiscent of a canteen with live Big Band music, delicious food and beverages. Guests are encouraged to “Dress the Part!” and attend the event in their best dress, vintage costume, or active military uniforms.

September 16 – Music on the Mill in Historic Occoquan
Come on out to River Mill Park on the Occoquan waterfront, as the town’s inaugural Music on the Mill Summer Concert series wraps up for the year with James Drake and CT3, performing acoustic rock.

September 16 – Heritage Festival at Prince William Forest Park
Explore the history of Prince William Forest Park through demonstrations, music, crafts, and exhibitors at the annual Heritage Festival and visit one of Prince William Forest Park’s historic Civilian Conservation Corps cabin camps.

September 16 – 42nd Bull Run Region AACA Edgar Rohr Memorial Car Show at The Manassas Museum
Enjoy wide variety of pre-war and post-war vehicles since 1992 and older cars on display, street rods/modified cars included. There will also be a free Country/Western concert by Miss Hannah Polk and Model T Assembly/Disassembly demonstration.

September 16 – Manassas’ Civil War Hospitals Caravan Tour at Ben Lomond Historic Site & Old Rose Garden
Visit the hospitals of Manassas to learn about medicine at the beginning of the Civil War, about the soldiers who were treated in these hospitals, and about the families whose homes were commandeered after two major battles at Bull Run.

September 16 – Haymarket Day
The Annual Haymarket Day is the biggest event Haymarket holds and it draws thousands of participants, spectators and vendors from Haymarket and surrounding towns. Haymarket Day is a huge celebration that kicks off with a lively parade with over 1800 participants including talented performance groups of all sorts, colorful floats, the spirited Battlefield High Marching Band, respected military personnel and many more.

September 18 – Museum Kid Monday! At Ben Lomond Historic Site & Old Rose Garden
Children will have the opportunity to explore history through sight, sound, smell, and touch through hands-on activities and crafts. Topics vary each month and will include subjects such as farming, textiles, or 19th century toys and more!

September 23 – Brenstville Day! At Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre
The community of Brentsville has been around for nearly 200 years and served as the social and political center of Prince William County for nearly 100 years. Enjoy historic farm demonstrations, living history, bluegrass music, games, food, tours of the historic buildings and more.

September 23-24 – Prince William County Farm Tour at Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre
Tour the 1850s farm house and learn about Prince William County farmers, free and enslaved. Discover how they lived and worked before electricity and running water.

September 24 – 2017 Manassas Latino Festival
The Latino Festival highlights the food, music, and art of our area’s Latin American communities, with live performances throughout the day, including Mariachis and Pinatas for the kids!

September 24 – Occoquan Fall Arts & Craft Shows
The streets of Occoquan come alive with this award winning outdoor street festival featuring more than 300 artisans and crafters, fun interactive activities for the whole family, live entertainment and great food!

September 26 – Mannheim Rocket Orchestra at Hylton Performing Arts Center
Spend the afternoon indulging in the sublime with Mannheim Rocket Orchestra as they perform works including Mozart’s Quintet for Clarinet and Strings. The orchestra is the premier period-instrument ensemble of Northern Virginia.

September 30 – Civil War Raiders of Northern Virginia Bus Tour at Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre
Join historians from Prince William County Historic Preservation Division and the Mosby Heritage Area Association for a special bus tour that will not only visit Mosby sites, but also other guerilla sites in Northern Virginia.
