Poster contest for K-12 on safe internet use; entries due by Jan. 8.

Students in grades K–12 can create a poster over the holidays illustrating the safe use of the Internet and/or mobile devices to submit to the 2016 Commonwealth of Virginia’s Cyber Security Awareness “Kids Safe Online” Virginia Poster Contest. Submissions are due Jan. 8.

Poster art should illustrate the safe use of the Internet and/or mobile devices, based on one of the following concepts:
• Interacting with others and not bullying or threatening others on the Internet
• Not giving out personal information on the Internet
• Only visiting safe websites
• Being careful with email (not sending worms and viruses)
• Being careful not to download malicious code from games or websites.
• How online gaming and gambling can be dangerous.
• Protecting against identity theft
• Safe use of social networking such as Twitter, Facebook, etc.
• Any original concept that illustrates safe use of the Internet or mobile devices
