New Dominion Choraliers to present free patriotic concert Nov. 7

The New Dominion Choraliers first show of the 2015/16 season is a free concert to honor those who serve and have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The concert will be performed on Saturday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Westminster of Lake Ridge, 12191 Clipper Drive, Woodbridge, VA 22192. The concert is open to residents of Westminster and anyone in the community who wishes to celebrate Veterans Day with a song in their heart.

The chorus, under the direction of Katherine Nelson-Tracey and accompanied by local brass and percussion musicians, will perform a selection of time-honored tunes as well as exciting arrangements of familiar and traditional patriotic songs, according to a news release.

The audience can expect to hear rousing songs such as “Stars and Stripes Forever,” “Let Freedom Ring,” and “Salute to Our Grand Old Flag” that cement our commitments to our nation.

The New Dominion Choraliers will uplift spirits with beautiful renditions of “The Glory of His Promises” and Eternal Father, Strong to Save.” No program honoring our Veterans would be complete without “A Tribute to the Armed Services” and of course “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

The New Dominion Choraliers is an award-winning volunteer, non-auditioned chorus of dedicated amateur and professional musicians that has been performing for 20 years in the community.

The chorus provides a supportive environment for musical growth and development of its members and provides opportunities for individual contributions and accomplishments. Membership is open to adults and high school juniors and seniors who have a serious interest in choral music. NDC also is open to students of the Woodbridge campus of Northern Virginia Community College to earn ensemble credits. NDC is an Affiliate Arts Organization at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.
