Comfort Cases packing party April 2 needs donations and volunteers

On April 2, Comfort Cases (ComfortCases.org), will host its spring “packing party” from 10 a.m. to noon at Linton Hall School in Bristow, Va and is looking for donations and volunteers.

Comfort Cases is a 501 (c ) 3 organization which supplies children entering foster care(infant to age 21) with backpacks or cases filled with items for daily living. These items include: New pajamas, a backpack or duffle bag, a small blanket, stuffed animal, toiletries, book, activity book or journal, crayons, markers, pens, and pencils.

Comfort Cases relies on the community for donation of these items. All items except the books, stuffed animals, and backpacks can be gently used. Must be clean and without marks, stains or writing.

Donations may be brought to the packing party on April 2 or there are a number of drop off locations throughout Fauquier, Loudoun and Prince William Counties.

Comfort Cases is an all volunteer organization, there are no paid board members or staff. The public is invited to attend the packing party and assemble cases. It is a fantastic opportunity for children and students in need of volunteer credits.

In addition to packing cases, there will be on hand representatives from Northern Virginia Family Services Therapeutic Foster Care Program, CASA Cis, Court Appointed Special Advocates Child Intervention Services, and The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to provide information on their programs.

We welcome all to attend and pack cases, help sort items, and help with clean-up at the end of the packing party.
