Warrenton man charged with strangulation in Gainesville

Strangulation – On January 18 at 6:19PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7000 block of Manahoac Pl in Gainesville (20155) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 49-year-old woman, and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim by the neck and choked her. The victim was eventually able to break free from the accused and flee the residence before contacting police. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jonas Isaiah HUME, was arrested without incident.
