Vint Hill Road closure this weekend

Vint Hill Road (VA 215) between Schaeffer Lane and Determination Drive will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20 to 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23 so that crews can perform water main and storm sewer line work, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Traffic will be detoured via Sudley Manor Drive, Linton Hall Road and Route 28 back to Vint Hill Road.

The work is part of Prince William County’s $69.9 million Route 28 widening project.

Phase One, which involves relocating Vint Hill Road to Route 28’s intersection with Infantry Lane and widening VA 28 to six lanes between Linton Hall Road and the relocated Vint Hill Road, is scheduled for completion in July 2016.

Construction of Phase Two, which involves widening VA 28 to four lanes between the relocated Vint Hill Road and Fitzwater Drive, is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2016 and has an estimated completion date of December 2017.
