The investigation revealed that the victim, a 23 year old man of Woodbridge, made arrangements to meet with a female acquaintance, identified as Jamie BOWYER, in the parking lot of the above location. Once there, the female suspect was in the company of another man, identified as DeWayne WILLIAMS.

During the encounter, WILLIAMS shot the victim in the face and both suspects fled the area. After being shot, the victim went into the McDonald’s where police were contacted. The victim was flown to area hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A description of the suspect vehicle was obtained and a responding officer spotted the vehicle matching the description on Neabsco Mills Rd. Before the officer could stop the vehicle, the driver, believed to be WILLIAMS, drove into the parking lot of nearby Freedom HS and fled on foot. At that point, BOWYER was not in the vehicle with WILLIAMS.

The two suspects are believed to have separated following the initial incident. Officers set up a perimeter around the high school and used a police K-9 to search for the suspect. During the search, officers learned that the suspect possibly carjacked a second victim in the area of Neabsco Mills Rd and Dale Blvd. That victim, a 26 year old man of Triangle, reported to police that he was flagged down by an unknown man while driving on Neabsco Mills Rd. The male suspect opened the passenger side door and got into the vehicle.

A verbal altercation ensued between the two men and during the interaction the suspect forced the victim to drive him away from the area. Once in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Delaware Dr, the suspect got out of the vehicle and continued to flee on foot towards the Misty Ridge Apartment Complex. Officers set up a perimeter around this location and used multiple police K-9’s to search for the suspect. After an extensive search using the K-9’s, officers began a methodical, door-to-door search of the complex and nearby neighborhood.

This search concluded shortly before 3:00AM. Officers also checked multiple addresses where the suspect was known to frequent. Following the investigation, both suspects were identified and warrants were obtained in connection to the shooting incident. The whereabouts of WILLIAMS and BOWYER are currently unknown.
