Traffic detours scheduled for Rixlew Lane and VA 55 for train track work
Norfolk Southern will be performing track work over the next two weeks that will affect motorists who use Rixlew Lane in Manassas or John Marshall Highway in Gainesville, according to a news release from Virginia Department of Transportation.
On Tuesday, Feb. 5 traffic on Rixlew Lane will be detoured from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. The detour route will be Wellington Road to Godwin Drive to Ashton Avenue to Rixlew Lane.
On Monday, Feb. 11, traffic on VA 55 (John Marshall Highway) west of Haymarket will be detoured from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. The detour route will be VA 55 to US 15 South to US 29 South to VA 600 to VA 55.
Message boards will be posted and police will be on site during the detours.
