The 23rd annual Take Your Dog to Work Day is June 25

The 23rd annual Take Your Dog To Work Day (TYDTWDay®) will take place this Friday, June 25, 2021. Plus, this entire week (June 21-25) is Take Your Pet To Work Week®, kicking off today (Monday, June 21) with Take Your Cat To Work Day®.

Event creator Pet Sitters International (PSI) says it has been encouraging pet lovers and businesses to find creative ways to participate this year, virtually or in person. The purpose of TYDTWDay is to celebrate the great companions dogs make and encourage their adoptions from local shelters, rescue groups and humane societies.

PSI, which identifies itself as “the world’s leading educational association for professional pet sitters,” stated in a news release that it “created Take Your Dog To Work Day in 1999 to celebrate the great companions dogs make and promote pet adoptions.:

PSI said it cannot track the day’s participation rates because companies are not required to register in order to participate. However, over the years media coverage and web traffic have indicated growing support of and participation in the event across the U.S. and abroad, a news release stated.
